JACK GIBBONS RETURNS TO LONDON'S QUEEN ELIZABETH HALL, 10th JULY 2005

Jack returns to London's premier recital hall on Sunday July 10th 2005, following another sell out recital there on July 11th 2004. Jack has been performing his unique all-Gershwin concerts in the hall since 1990 and every year has presented newly discovered or newly reconstructed authentic Gershwin items in his programmes, as well as such favourites such as the Rhapsody in Blue. This year Jack will also be including several of his own highly popular compositions, recently premiered with such success at Carnegie Hall in New York. Full details can be found in the London section of the Concerts pages.

JACK GIBBONS' 2005 SUMMER CONCERTS IN OXFORD

In July and August 2005 Jack Gibbons returns to one of his favourite haunts, the historic and intimate Holywell Music Room in the beautiful university city of Oxford, England to perform his 18th annual series of summer concerts in the city. Jack has been giving his highly popular summer concerts at this venue without a break since July 1988. The concerts always sell out to enthusiastic crowds, and the repertoire for last year's recitals was typically wide-ranging, with 9 programmes that included whole evenings devoted to the music of Beethoven, Chopin and Gershwin, with featured works as diverse as Bach's complete Goldberg Variations and James P. Johnson's Carolina Shout. The concerts also included many of Jack's own recent compositions. His 18th season of summer concerts in the city will begin on Wednesday July 20th 2005, continuing through to the end of August 2005. Full details can be viewed on this web site in the Oxford section of the Concerts pages.

JACK GIBBONS RETURNS TO NEW YORK'S CARNEGIE HALL

Jack's long awaited return to New York's historic Carnegie Hall took place on Saturday February 26th 2005 to standing ovations from a totally sold out hall. The concert was a mostly Gershwin tribute to Edward Jablonski, Gershwin's acclaimed biographer and close friend of the Gershwin family who sadly passed away in February 2004. Other items in the programme included music by J.S. Bach, Charles-Valentin Alkan and the world premieres of several of Jack's own compositions. More details can be found by following the New York link on the Concerts page.

JACK GIBBONS ON BBC RADIO 2

Jack was recently heard, along with other contributors, talking about Gershwin's remarkable achievements and demonstrating his music at the keyboard in a series of 6 weekly programmes for the BBC that ran in October and November 2004. Jack's recordings are regularly played on the BBC and other stations. You can listen online anywhere in the world to live radio from the BBC by following this link to the main BBC radio web pages.
